The Doctor had become very accustomed to living with Amy and Alexander now. He hadn’t left, once. He would occasionally go into the TARDIS and talk to her, making sure she was alright and didn’t feel abandoned. When Amy knocked on his door, the Doctor was sat on his bed watching tele, Eddie Izzard was on. They now got every channel ever. He laughed and pressed buzzes at the tele with his sonic, pausing the program. He immediately nodded to her request. “Course, yeah. I’ll bring you a cup too.”

Before she could deny his offer he was gone and in the kitchen, preparing them all tea. “Xander, tea!” he called down towards the little boy’s room. Over the past few months the Doctor and Alexander had become very close. The boy ran into the room. “Oi, running.” The Doctor said and the boy immediately slowed into an awkward jog. “Sit at the table, little rugrat.” Before bringing him his tea, the Doctor buzzed it with his sonic to make sure the temperature was right. He sipped at his tea and handed Alexander his, who happily sipped at it with a giddy smile. “You can watch some tele, once you’re done. Don’t tell your mum.” He winked at him then grabbed Amy’s cup.

He knocked lightly at the door. “Amy? I brought you a cuppa.” The Doctor stepped into the room. “Sorry for just coming in, thought you could use some tea.”

Amy nodded not really noticing that it sounded like the Doctor wanted to give her son actual tea rather than food, so she made her way into her room and curled up. By the time the Doctor arrived with a cup of tea she was curled up into a ball in the smallest corner of her bed. She had her arms around her stomach and her legs pulled up against them.

"I’ll have it in a minute. So did you give Alex his dinner?" She asked in a mumble, "Because I really hope you didn’t just give my one year old son caffeine…" She said with a raised eyebrow before groaning as her stomach began to hurt again.

The Doctor placed her cup next to her. “Oops.” He laughed awkwardly. “Be right back.” He still wasn’t used to the whole humans and constantly eating thing. They were like empty pits. He half ran out of the room, relieved to see Alexander had barely touched his tea. “Food.” The little boy demanded. “Yesyesyes food.” The Doctor replied and grabbed the tea from him, placing it onto a high counter. He span around the kitchen and quickly made him his meal and then gave it to him. “Your favorite.” He sat across from him and waited for him to finish.

He took his almost empty plate when Alexander finished, discarding the remains and washing up the dishes. The Doctor picked up Alexander. “Toys or tele?” “Tele, tele, tele!” The boy chanted. “Alright alright.” The Doctor laughed and clicked on the television to the boy’s favorite program. “You get 30 minutes before bath time.” He placed Alexander down on the couch and returned to Amy. “Now he’s fed.” He scratched at the back of his head with an awkward chuckle. “You feeling alright, Amy?”

"Sorry, I didn’t realize I was doing it." He straightened his bow tie and grabbed his waist coat as the last bit of his ensemble outfit. He sort of stood there a bit awkwardly as she moved around the room doing various things. He quirked his brow slightly when he noticed her look at him. Was she keeping busy to avoid him?

"Yeah yeah. That’s brilliant, thanks Ame— Amy." The Doctor swallowed. and made way towards the door. "Maybe when you get back we can go to that little coffee shop on the corner or that park you like so much. If you want to." He smiled softly before turning out the door. He saw Alexander sitting on the couch watching some children’s program. He ruffled the boy’s hair. "You be good eh?" He smiled bigger at him and left the flat and going to his blue box.

The Doctor had been staying with them for a couple of months now, Amy and the Doctor had learnt to live with each other, but nothing intimate like the first night had happened again. Amy had gone to pick Alexander up from school and was feeling completely rubbish when she returned, she let Alexander toddle into his play room and she smiled as she watched him go.

She went into the kitchen to take some paracetamol, and rested against the counter as she was waiting for the stomach cramps to subside. She sighed and made her way over to the Doctor’s room and knocked on the door, she waited till he opened it. “Hey can you make tea for Alex, I need to go and lie down.”

The Doctor waved at Alexander as Amy took him out. Once the two were gone he removed himself from the bed and started rummaging for his clothes. He pulled on his white dress shirt, pushing out the wrinkles before tucking them into his trousers. He then put on his vest and pulled the untied bow tie around his neck as Amy returned.

His eyes looked up and watched her as he buttoned up his vest then did his bow tie. “What look? I’m not giving a look.” He insisted, fixing his pocket watch onto his vest. “I’m just… looking.” He made a face at his own stupidity.

"You’ve been giving me a look for the past twenty minutes. Stop it." She said and pulled off her nighty and pulled on some clean underwear and a dress over the top, it wasn’t like he hadn’t seen it all before. She went over to her dresser and pinned her hair up before putting on a bit of make up.

She slipped on her shoes that were under the dresser and grabbed her hand bag off the end of the bed. In that she was ready in a few minutes. She looked over at him again and stopped, she was trying to keep busy and she knew why, she knew she was trying to ignore the fact he was hear again. “I’m going to set up the spare bed when I get back, it can be your room to do whatever you want in, if you want there is enough room to put the TARDIS… Okay?”

The Doctor held his arms up, blocking the croissant that ended up landing in his lap as he laughed. “He likes them. What can I say?” He chuckled grabbing the croissant from his lap and tearing off a piece.

He chewed at the piece he tore off, holding his hand up signaling he was going to speak after swallowing. “Although a subconscious decision, after you pulling me around by that tie I definitely decided against ties of that nature ever again.” The Doctor looked at Amy, before placing his plate down and crawling next to her. “Are you alright?”

Amy listened to him but just continued eating as he crawled over to her. She looked back over at her son as he shoved more bits in his mouth. “I’m fine.” She said slightly shakily. “You mister need to get ready for play school, and then you’re going to Christopher’s house.” Amy said and the little boy started jumping on the bed.

She stood up and pulled him into her arms and took him to his room, she got him dressed and changed, she then let him toddle along into the living room where she put children’s tv on before returning to her room to get changed. “Stop giving me that look.” She said as she searched through her cupboard for a nice dress.

The Doctor happily took Alexander from Amy. “Breakfast in bed.” The Doctor smirked. “Your mummy sure does spoil you eh?” He poked Alexander’s nosing causing the small boy to giggle in response. He bobbed the boy up and down on his knee, receiving more and more laughter from him.

When Amy walked back in the room, the Doctor was showing Alexander to tie a bow tie. “And then this bit goes through here and wallah!” He pointed to the mirror and let Alexander look at himself. “Told you they’re cool. Your mum doesn’t like em much though.” he winked at Amy as she entered the room.

"Will you stop putting bowties on my son." Amy said and threw a croissant at him. She rolled her eyes and sat back on the bed passing the Doctor and Alexander a plate.  She broke up the croissant on Alexanders plate and let him chew on the pieces.

"Yeah, and I realised I’m probably the reason you wear them since the car door incident." She rolled her eyes and bit her croissant swallowing the bit, she sat at the end of the bed and looked over at the Doctor with a slight frown but she didn’t look unhappy.

"Not as much as you’d think." He chuckled. "Although I am technically a doctor of cheese. Weird degree to have." The Doctor quirked an eyebrow at David’s lack of reaction towards his age, he could tell he wasn’t an ordinary human. "Well now that’s a lovely compliment." he smiled which turned into a large grin when David mentioned the blue box. "Well this." he moved and held out his hand towards the machine as if showing it off. "This is the TARDIS, my ship. She travels through time and space."

image

"A Doctor of cheese? Now that I find helpful and an original degree. I can honestly say you are the first person with a degree in cheese I have met." He chuckled.  His eyed widen at the mention of the blue box and smiled. "The TARDIS? You travel through space in that? Sort of like a mobile home?" He admired it from a distance but his curiousity had gotten the best of him, turning to look at the Doctor, "It looks so small?"

image

The Doctor liked this man already. He seemed clever and brave, definitely brave. “A mobile home?” He chuckled. “That’s a new one, yes but a bit like a mobile home I suppose. She’s definitely my home.” The Doctor couldn’t help but smirk. “Small eh?” He leaned against the TARDIS and snapped his fingers, the doors opened, blue light shining onto the bot of them. “Take a look.” He couldn’t resist showing off.
